Meet Golden Star Parker
This special guy, shown here, was very
busy during the summer of 2005. He was involved in the movie shoot
for the film, Air Buddies, which came out in 2006 (click
here to check out the whole line of Air Bud
movies). Parker actually shared the role with another Golden named
Scout, each Golden boy doing different scenes.
Air Buddies, a direct-to-video live action movie, is the sixth film
in the Air Bud series. And, this is the adorable plot: when
Dad Buddy and Mom Molly are dognapped, their five adorable pups, the AIR BUDDIES, must save the
day. We learned about Parker (Trillium’s Go
For the Gold) from Rose Cervenak, of
Trillium Goldens, located just outside of Portland,
Oregon. Rose has been a special friend since entering our 2002
Fur-Ever Love Photo
Contest, photos of her Kelsey & Cooper among our Top
Ten Winners!
Parker
(CH Winfield's How Sweet It Is CD AX AXJ SDHF CGC OAC OGC TDI "Troy"
x Trilliums Once In A Blu Moon "Blu") was born on February 20, 2002.
His mom, Blu, who is shown below, is one of Rose's wonderful Golden
gals. Rose tells
this story about Parker's background: "I met Carol Hanft at an
agility trial many years ago. We both had Goldens named Cooper J and
it was our very special boys that brought us together as friends.
So, when Carol mentioned she and Bob were looking for a 'special'
male puppy to bring into their home and carry on the tradition of
their other Goldens in agility and obedience, I was thrilled and
hopeful that I’d have that one 'special' puppy to offer her. Parker
made it clear from the start that he WAS that puppy! In 2004 a trainer
approached Carol about using Parker in the next Air Bud movie
and when this fantastic opportunity came to fruition in the summer
of 2005, Carol and Bob decided to let their sweet boy go to Los
Angeles and then Vancouver, BC for more than 12 weeks to film a
movie. Carol and Bob Hanft have been great friends over the years
and I am thankful they allowed Parker to realize his potential as a
SUPERSTAR, even though it meant his being away from them for so
long." Parker is
a show dog and is
currently working on his American championship (shown below).
