Chuck and Lisa White sent this heartfelt tribute about their Trappy-baby on January 18, 2002.

Trapper was his name. For 14 years and 11 months we had you in our lives. You were simply an amazing animal and creature of G-d. You touched so many lives and most of all provided a source of pure love and enjoyment. You were my dog through my marriage and the birth of our first child.

I have so many wonderful memories of you that I don't know where to begin. I miss you more than words can say and pray that one day we will meet again. I pray that you are going on walks and rides and propping your face on the backseat.

You were so smart and always knew when I needed some TLC. You were so terrified of storms and found comfort sleeping in the bathroom with the fan running. You never liked to have your picture taken and always knew when the camera was out. You could "speak" and shake on command. You loved to have your tummy and neck rubbed.

From Seattle to Tampa you traveled the country. The day we picked you up in Cincinnati you immediately started to bark when you saw me. I will never forget how excited I was to get you.

You knew how to let me know just what you needed/wanted and knew how to remind me of the really important things in life. I took you for granted and just expected you to always be around. I'm still at a loss of words having only lost you one week ago. It is a shock I suppose and over time it will get easier. In the meantime, I will think of you everyday and close my eyes to see you again.

This spring we will take your ashes to your favorite park and sprinkle them where I told you we would. My hope is that you know how much you were and are still loved.

I thank you for all you gave and the wonderful memories we have. You truly were one of a kind and I am better for having known you. Thank you for being my Trappy-baby. I love and miss you. I look forward to our walks in heaven.
