On August 25, 2001, Thian Yeong Henry sent us this tribute about her special girl.

Her name was Sally. I got her at two months old when I lost my other pet dog. She was the first of four Golden Retrievers that I had at home. She was the dog that persuaded my family to get another male retriever for company. They in turn had six puppies and we kept two.

We were the first few people who had Golden Retrievers in our country. People kept coming to my neighbourhood just to have a look at them. I would like to think that these people in turn had their Goldens after watching our dogs.

Sally was a companion for me since I was in primary school. After I had gone abroad for my studies, every time I came back for the holidays she would be the first to welcome me home.

She won't be greeting me these holidays. She died of cancer on August 23, 2001. She was nine years old. I really hope she has gone on to a better place. I am thankful for all the memories she has given me . . . and the two pups she has given to us.

I Miss You Sally,
Thian
