On July 1, 2001, we
received a special dedication from Genell Bogner. Sadly, she had to send her Misty to the
Rainbow Bridge at 14½ years of age.
Misty,
That Sweet White Face Oh the first time we saw you, with that loud bark, wagging tail and slightly white
face with a body of Golden fur! What a wonderful surprise you were that day we adopted
you!
Living in the country brought you many new changes. Dog school once a week, rides in a
pickup truck, skunks, kittens and swimming in the slough. Misty you certainly had lots of
baths.
What a good girl you were. Your sweet personality and relaxed view of life made you the
idea therapy dog candidate. You loved all your new friends at the four nursing homes you
visited. You were mobbed by the school children many times and just stood there patiently.
What a wonderful dog you were. What joy you brought to us every day that you lived in our
home.
You learned to go ice fishing. You were the only dog we knew who could put their head down
the hole in the ice and catch a released fish. You never hurt them, just licked them once
you had the fish on the ice. You learned to watch for the geese when we went hunting. You
never retrieved one but you sure loved to see those geese fly by.
Soon you developed health problems but your spirit never changed. Your face got grayer,
your body lumpier and your walks slower. But if you thought you were going for a ride in
the pickup or behind the motorcycle in your motorcycle trailer you acted like a puppy.
Misty, our sweet white faced girl with Golden body! How we loved you. How you loved us.
You taught us what a Golden Retriever should be. Every day I miss seeing that beautiful
white face holding your Moosie toy, wagging your whole body and greeting us at the door.
Misty you taught us about love, loyalty,
joy and sadness. What a wonderful Golden girl you were. The best thing we ever did was
adopt you. We had 7½ fun filled years together. May we see you in heaven one day!
Love, Mom Genell and Dad Phil
