We believe that health issues arise from all of the heavy processing and harmful insecticides and chemical fertilizers in foods. At the Land of PureGold we only carry those treats and chews that we would allow our own dogs to eat. Chews must be natural and free-range. For that reason, the cost may be somewhat higher. But, honestly, we believe our furkids are more than worth it. They have such a limited life span with us as it is, so we figure it is the least we can do to try and extend it by providing only the best.

The story behind the creation of Himalayan Dog Chews began in 2003. During a three year service as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Nepal, one of the company's founders took in an abandoned puppy off the streets. As the dog was teething and there was no access to the plethora of products available here in the United States, the need to improvise with locally available products arose. It was discovered that a hard, cheese-like product made for and consumed by the Nepali people was the perfect answer to the problem.

Since then, the folks at Himalayan Dog Chew import only the finest quality product and it has been tested in American laboratories for its content, including harmful bacteria and potential for bacterial growth over time. They are satisfied that the product being offered to the North American consumer is safe and that it will fill the void for an edible treat that can keep the attention of even the most powerfully neurotic canine jaws.

Made in Nepal, these yak and cow milk chews come from an ancient recipe that is used by the locals to create a long-lasting snack that they can slowly work in their mouths while they are working in the fields. This is a very long lasting dog chew. Dogs must work the end of the treat for hours, softening it with their mouths before small parts of it can be slowly scraped off. One-hundred percent natural with no preservatives, this chew is made from an authentic type of cheese eaten by the people of the Himalayas. When you give this chew to your dog, you know that you are providing them with hours of high quality eating entertainment.

NOTE: It is always important to remember that you must supervise your dog when utilizing this, or any kind, of chew.
